So I’ve checked into my flight, packed, and did my nails. Is it vacation yet?
This is China Glaze ‘Turned up Turquoise’ but this picture is a lie. Flat out. The color is neon green turquoise with no hint of blue. Neons are notoriously hard to photograph but this color is gorgeous. Like most neons it dries matte and can be a bit streaky if you’re not careful but two coats and a glossy top coat will solve all your problems.
I’ve honestly never wanted 5 AM to come so much. To the beach!
I just put a huge gash in my finger trying to open some nail polish.
The top popped off and the glass cut me deep. It won’t stop bleeding and it’s kind of scary.
This is the last thing I need tonight since S arrives in 3 hours and I have so much to do before he gets here. Like my nails and hair. I can’t wait for this weekend!!
What I need to do this weekend: laundry and work. What I want to do this weekend: shop.
The weekend totally snuck up on me.
I have no plans, which isn’t really that weird because I barely know anyone in this town, but if the weekend is as beautiful as they say it will be I feel like I take advantage of it by doing … something.
Game night tonight!!
Unfortunately I’m still teaching the ladies the game so we’re not playing for money yet. But friends! And food!!
Finally home after a long ass day.
I went to an industry networking event through an organization I’ve been a member of since I started looking for jobs two years ago. This was the first event I’ve been able to attend because they’re only in the city and for the six months I’ve been here I just haven’t wanted to make the trip down in the cold. I went with a very nice co-worker who I’ve been secretly wanting to befriend and it was a good experience. But due to the timing of the event I had to leave work 1.5 hours before I normally do which meant coming in 1.5 hours before I normally do and I’m wiped. Guess I won’t be getting to bed anytime soon either since they barely had anything to eat at the event. Too bad I have nothing delicious in my fridge.
First day of talks down. Time to walk around a bit and fill my face with Thai food before the posters start tonight.
S and I had another great weekend.
We ate, we hiked, we slothed. Also, we waved to Michael Emerson and he waved back (pictures to come!) and then I got to shake hands with the cast of Archer!
Had my taxes done today and it was well worth it. Between the move and paying estimated taxes, I got a refund!
